What is Sparx Science?

Sparx Science Homework is an online platform that creates personalised science homework for students aged 11-16.

Homework allows your child to practise and cement their understanding built in the classroom. Each week, we use the topics chosen by your child's teacher to create a tailored set of questions matched to your child's current level of understanding.

Every question has its own support. This means we believe every child can complete 100% of their homework.

Through consistent practice, your child can build a deep understanding of science allowing them to feel success in the classroom and become confident scientists.

Teachers select topics that have been taught in class.

How does Sparx Science support my child with their learning?

Sparx Science allows your child to further secure what they have covered in their science lessons, giving additional practice that will allow them to strengthen knowledge and build confidence.

Sparx tailors the questions and the support to each child, so they see a balance of success and challenge. This means sometimes they will get a question wrong, but using our tailored support, they can fill this gap in their knowledge so they can get it right next time it comes up in lesson.

By carefully working through each question, using the support from us, you, or their teachers, and celebrating when they get an answer right, your child will be able to see success in their lessons, deepening their scientific understanding and knowledge.

How can I help my child with their Sparx Science homework?

We believe your child can be successful in their homework and answer every question, but we know at times they may struggle, so how can you support your child with their homework?

  • Build routines and independence by supporting them to give each question a genuine attempt, without help.
  • Encourage them to carefully read the question and the support given.
  • Suggest that they start early to give plenty of time to ask their teacher for help if they need it.
